Life was given to us by God. He started by creating the heavens and the earth.

“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.”

Then, in 6 days he created the rest of the world, during one of those days he created Adam and Eve.

So, that answers our first question.

Q. What is life?

A. Life is being alive. Existing.

So, why is life? Well, the first catechism question is, “What is the Chief end of man?”  in the Westminster Shorter Catechism the answer is, “Man’s chief end is to glorify God and enjoy him forever.”

Psalm 86:9 says,

“All the nations you have made shall come
and worship before you, O Lord,
and shall glorify your name.”

So, in my opinion the answer to the second question is:

Q. Why is life?

A. Life is because God has created us to glorify and enjoy Him.

I must do better at glorifying and enjoying God.

God bless!
